Canadian universities among world’s most innovative
November 10, 2015 – Canada is home to two of the most innovative universities according to a ranking by Reuters.
The Reuters Top 100 World's Most Innovative Universities recognized the University of Toronto (38th place) and the University of British Columbia (67th place) as institutions that represent what it means to be truly innovative: reliably producing original research, creating useful technology and having the greatest economic impact.
Canada’s educational institutions have long been incubators for innovation. Flat screen technology, voice compression applications for cell phones and computers, and IMAX film are among the many revolutionary technologies invented and developed by men and women who studied in Canada.
