Hi, my name is Mica. I’m from the Philippines and I’m currently studying food and nutrition management in Saskatchewan.

I chose to study in Canada because people here are just very kind, they’re very welcoming.

The learning style of Saskatchewan Polytechnic fits on how I learn as a student because they’re very hands-on and practical.

I get to study about nutrition, food, and cooking and business and management.

Half of my class are international students, so that alone we have common ground. That kind of friendship is for a lifetime now.

My instructors are very supportive. They have started this mentorship program and I’ve made use of that to talk to my mentor to understand what my future is like after graduating.

After I graduate, I plan to go to the healthcare path and become a nutrition manager in either hospitals or care homes here in Saskatchewan.

I love living here in Saskatoon because I adore a simple life. I like to jog and walk around downtown and experience the simplicity of the city.

Right now, I just can’t believe the growth that I witnessed for myself. And I was able to adapt to the Canadian culture by actually interacting with the people around me, getting information, making friends, making connections.

I think international students should choose Canada because it offers a lot of opportunities.

It helped me become the person I want to be.
